Behaviour Support and Transition Manager

Permanent, full-time, 37 hours (Monday-Thursday 8.15-4.15pm and Friday 8.15-3.45pm) term time only role to start as soon as possible.

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

We are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support and Transition Manager to support students and deliver the School’s behaviour policies. 

As a Behaviour Support and Transition Manager you will support Senior Leadership Team and Heads of House in school’s behaviour system to contribute to promotion of emotional wellbeing, good mental health, positive behaviour and high attendance among the students. Your role will involve working closely with SLT, Heads of House and wellbeing team to ensure proper behaviour in the school.

This role will assist Academy staff and partner professionals in the identification and support of those young people with, or at risk of, developing emotional and behavioural problems. 

You will:

  • Be educated to a high standard with a GCSE Grade C in Maths and English in addition to an NVQ in teaching and learning (or equivalent qualifications) 
  • Drive the Academy's vision and expectations to have a significant impact on students' life chances
  • Be bold, optimistic and tenacious in setting and achieving high standards
  • Communicate and relate to students to enable you to build effective working relationships
  • Have a proven track record of supporting students in a learning environment 

Successful candidates for this post will require Behavioural Management experience, it is also essential that you have experience of working with young people with a wide range of behavioural and educational needs including those students who require additional emotional, social and mental health support. A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important.
