Frank House
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank.
Anne Frank, the inspirational woman for Frank House, was born on June 12, 1929, a German-Jewish teenager who was forced to go into hiding during the Holocaust is the inspiration for Frank House. She and her family, along with four others, spent over two years during World War II hiding in an annex of rooms above her father’s office in Amsterdam. She wrote a diary immortalizing her experience and the experience of persecuted people during the Second World War.
Anne Frank is the perfect inspirational woman as she has communicated her story which has been translated into 70 languages, making it a global story which has been read by millions of people.
Anne Frank saw beauty in the limited world around her and still believed it was possible to make it a better place. In many ways she embodied the school’s values of:
Resilience – to continue living the way she believed was right
Curiosity – to take interest in the people and world around her
Responsibility – to record her story for future generations
Respect – by respecting the rules that kept her and her family in hiding for two years.
Frank House is inclusive and where all students feel valued and able to express themselves. All students should feel empowered and like they have the ability to change the world for the better just as Anne Frank did.
